One of my favorite place to order from. The carne asada was so flavorful and such a good portion. The rice is always perfect!!!! No matter what I get it's enough for two meals
Yambo is the best authentic fritanga! It screams Miami vibes and is open super late. The portions are generous and the food tasty. Definitely a must try hidden gem!
In the search of delicious Nicaraguan cuisine I found this restaurant. I ordered online and the whole experience was wonderful. I ordered the Carne Asada, the nacatamal and sodas. I was impressed by the carne Asada dish, it was served with a generous amount of gallo pinto (rice&beans), plantains and fried cheese. All the sides complemented my dish very well and the food was amazing. The meat was tender and tasty. The packaging was excellent and everything arrived hot and perfect. I was wowed by the presentation, flavor, and also the fantastic food selection. I highly recommend this restaurant and also the nacatamal that was also SUPERdelicious!!! Fenomenal service provided for an online order.
We stopped by the other day for a quick lunch. It was pretty busy, but they bring your order quickly. We sat at our favorite table in the back. I love looking at all the artifacts on the wall. The service was friendly and quick. The food, carne con queso y coleslaw, was very good. We were able to park in front of Yambo.
Yambooooo; if you know, you know. The food is solid. I always get the exact same thing, the churrasco with the rice & peas, and the fried cheese. Of course with the side of pickled cabbage or whatever that is. The portions are HUGE, and this is coming from someone who eats a LOT. The place itself is cool and iconic. The food is always ready to be served. And they're open all the damn time. It's a super solid option when you're in the area and you're hungry.
My friends love coming here in the middle of the night. They serve big portions of food and their prices are reasonable. If you love chocolate milk, then order the cacao. That is fire!!! You will be hooked.
As Miami visitors, it was our first time going to a fritanga! We were super hungry after a night out, but not many places were open late, so we were lucky to find this one. PARKING: Small lot but tons of open spots late at night. WHAT I ORDERED: We got two plates, one carne asada and one pollo frito. Accompanied by gallo pinto, yuca frita, queso frito, and maduro THE FOOD: This definitely hit the spot. The gallo pinto, maduro, and queso frito were pretty standard compared to what I've had in the past. The yuca frita was pretty solid and perfectly cooked. I think the pollo frito is something I would skip next time since it's something I'd rather have freshly fried. But the carne asada was AMAZING, very nicely seasoned and still juicy. SERVICE: We ordered to go at the window outside. Very straightforward and no frills but friendly and super fast. Note that they speak mostly Spanish here, which we spoke, but I'm sure you could also get by if you only speak English too. VIBES: There's seating inside if you dine in, and additional seating outside if you order to go. What caught our attention was the décor outside - super unique and we spent some time just looking at it! BOTTOM LINE: I'd come back. Good prices, good serving size, and open late.
Yambo has a special place in my heart always, much like many other fond memories of places that adorn their walls to the brim and seem to be one strong wind storm away from utter disaster. I had the pleasure of going to Yambo twice, once through the magical service of delivery and once in person when I found out how gaudy (in the best way possible) the interior looked through photos. Both times, I was surprised by the amount of food. I think that's my biggest takeaway from Yambo: no, you do not need two of anything, there is more than enough with one serving of it. The photo I uploaded way the first time I ordered, where my wonder got to the best of me and I figured my housemates would love to try some Nicaraguan cuisine, only to find out it was way more for all three of us than anticipated. The food itself was delicious--lengua (my favorite and most critical meat) was great and wasn't tough, naca tamales were delicious, queso frito was the only thing validating two orders of in terms of quantity, I could go on. If you want Yambo, I highly recommend it and hell, I'd say it'd good for dining in or ordering delivery (which is rare for many places). You'll get a great bargain for the amount of food you're going to order almost guaranteed and you'll be happy, content, and satisfied with what you get.
I came here for a midnight snack for the first time and I approve. The parking was easy since it was late at night and the line went by fast. The prices were decent. The food was good. There was lots of cool art around the small restaurant. We sat outside and it was nice.
